Recipes: Lemonade

We’ve had a lot of recipe requests for my no-so secret but ever-so awesome lemonade. It’s actually a derivation of this recipe I found online. I make mine with a combination of sugar and Truvia, an artificial sweetener made from the stevia plant and use a microwave to cut cooking time. It’s so quick and easy, I often make it during downtime while cooking dinner or breakfast. I hope you enjoy…

Ingredients:

1.5 Cups of lemon juice (either fresh squeezed, or from a bottle)

1 Cup of sugar

2 Tbsp Truvia

8 cups of water

Directions:

Step one: Mix one cup water, sugar, and Truvia in a microwave save container for 2 minutes. Stir. Microwave for another 90 seconds. Stir until sugar is dissolved and mixture is clear.

Step two: Cool to room temp, then move to refrigerator until chilled.

Step three: Combine remaining water, lemon juice, and syrup mixture and chill.

Serve over ice and enjoy with a nice side of grapes. Goes well with the Sea Captain’s Ribs.

Total Carbohydrates: 28 per 8 Oz. glass.

Special thanks to the USDA site for providing an awesome tool to determine nutrition.
