First, this week’s theme is Independence Day. Enjoy today’s image of thirteen grapes on a plate.
Now on to the news…
Oddly, spam is one of the things I’ve found most humorous as I master the web. Yeah, we all get spam, but the posting spam is different and entertaining in its own fashion. With the exception of the post from “Dentist”, I delete all spam before it makes it to the site. This isn’t too arduous a task since I only get 1-2 spammers a week.
Anyway, the spammers in question use bots and don’t actually read my site and this is what makes the posts somewhat entertaining. So, I’ll have an irregular feature on the site entitled “Spam of the Week.” Here’s a sample… and this week’s Spam of the Week.
A user going by the name “Mr. Foreclosure” praises my mad journalistic skillz displayed in this post by writing, “Thats a truly wonderful article with necessary Data. Thank you for your guide.”
Three points, if I may, Mr. Mr. Foreclosure. First, The Grammar Hammer can’t let “Thats” slide… the apostrophe is our friend, sir, use it. Or should I say, the apostrophe is our friend, sir, it, you should use? Damn prepositions…
Second, why is “Data” capitalized? Should I ask The Grammar Hammer to weigh in on this, or should the nerd in me point out that Lt. Commander Data was not cited as an article source?
Finally, this is not a guide. A movement? Maybe. (It’s worth noting that individual opinions of this site will greatly influence which of the many definitions for “movement” is most applicable.)
after you ate them they became part of a movement
