Merry Christmas! Be careful with some of your new toys…

Toys were more dangerous back in my day (lawn darts, small caliber firearms, knives, etc…), but while I was looking for a gift for a young boy that was part of the Salvation Army Angel Tree I saw the toy pictured below. I’m sure I’m not the first person to notice this warning on a Darth Vader toy. Choking hazard indeed!!!

Monday Update

It’s that time of week to be amused for the next minute or so. First is an image I snapped from a local flyer. I’m not much of a species expert when it comes to seafood, but I’m not sure these are shrimp (colossal, or otherwise).

Climate change expert’s fraud was ‘crime of massive proportion,’ say feds – Investigations

This guy has got some serious stones. For over 10 years he lied to his employer, the EPA, telling them he was a covert CIA spy. Among his many exploits:

  • Got a handicap plate because he claimed “he got malaria while in Vietnam”.
  • Played James Bond-esk spy by getting the EPA to pay for first class flights, stays in 5 star hotels, limos, etc…
  • Somehow received a salary of $206,000/year; more than ANYONE else at the EPA (even his bosses)
  • Didn’t show up for work for months at a time, include one stretch of 18 months in a row. Apparently he was on assignment in Pakistan (he was really at his Cape Cod summer house or on his yacht).
